Army List Submission
Please submit your army list via Tabletop Admiral prior to the event.
Players who submit their army list by September 17th, 2026 will receive one bonus tournament
point.
Rules
All MESBG rule books, including legacy, are allowed. Most recent FAQs and Errata
from Games Workshop will be in effect. Please raise any rules questions to the TO and they will be happy to answer to the best of their knowledge.
Rules disputes will be raised to the Tournament Organizer, decisions will be final. If rules
disputes arise, remember the most important rule of the game:
“This game is designed to be played in a generous spirit, in a manner befitting the gentlest and noblest of Hobbits.”
New players are welcome and encouraged to attend, and experienced players are
expected to help new opponents with the rules in their games.
Terrain
Terrain will be laid out by the TO and Tabletop Renaissance staff prior to the event,
please do not rearrange any terrain on the tables during the event.
Before each game, make sure you and your opponent agree on what board features are difficult terrain, forests, and mountainous terrain.
Proxies and Conversions
Proxies and conversions are allowed, so long as they accurately represent the model in
size and wargear. WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) is required, i.e. all models with
shields must visibly have a shield, same for bows, spears and other wargear. Differing sculpts are allowed, so long as they are unambiguous and cannot lead to confusion for an opponent (For example, using Galadhrim elves instead of Mirkwood elves in a Thranduil’s halls list would be allowed. Using a mixture of Morannon orcs as Mordor orcs in a list that can take both would not be allowed).
Painting
Tabletop Renaissance requires that all 3D printed models are battle ready (basecoated in at least 3 colors and textured base). There will be an award for best painted army.
Time Limits
Each round is 1 hour 45 minutes. Pairings will be announced as soon as previous round results
are available.
10 minutes before the end of the round, the TO will call “last round”. No new rounds can begin
after this point. Games will be allowed 5 minutes of overtime, only to finish the current round.
Awards
Awards will be presented for:
- 1st place
- Best painted army
- Most Hobbitlike Player (best sportsman)
- Wooden Spoon (last place)
Entry fees go to prizing for the 4 awards. No player can win more than 1 prize, if a player wins
more than one category, the prize goes to 2nd in the category.
All players will receive “thank you” prizing from the TO for helping make this first event a
“party to remember”.
