Katherine Kane, a wealthy heiress who was inspired by her admiration and affection for Batman, choose to put her wealth and resources towards funding a war on crime in her home of Gotham City.

It is said that no one has ever rivalled Batman as a champion of the law, nor matched his superb acrobatic skill, his scientific keenness, his mastery of disguise and detective skill, that was until Batwoman emerged. Her Skill and prowess lead her to be the first member of and the starting point for the formation of the Batman Family.
